About Us

Our Vision

An affordable practice run by nurse practitioners that brings the experience, compassion, and values nursing provides to patients to those often excluded from the healthcare industry.

Our Mission

To use the skills and values of nursing via telehealth to create a practice that integrates all aspects of healthcare to provide a comprehensive & individualized plan of care.

Who We Are

We are as fed up with the healthcare system as you are. So, we created APNS. A place where healthcare triumphs over maximizing profits. We are looking to be your new healthcare providers, your new healthcare resource, and give you a new faith in receiving healthcare.  Our intakes are more comprehensive and may take a little more time as a new patient.  This is because we are not looking to use your current disease to make a quick buck.  We want to know all about you so we can consider all the possibilities that contribute to your current conditions.  We are your urgent care, your primary care, your family care – your total care!

We are nurse practitioners who went into our profession to help people, and instead find ourselves pawns of the industry used to maximize profits for corporations at your expense. Yes, we understand it is a business, and we do need to make money. But doing this ourselves allows us to ensure we are meeting your needs and not the needs of the corporation. At APNS, we recognize that not everyone fits the guidelines. That you may have unique needs, and frankly know your body best.  You know what works for you, and we are here to work with you to find the best treatment for you to enjoy your life as best you can.

We have decades of varied experience among our providers. We believe we can offer you the best quality care at an affordable price simply because we are not driven by money, but by you. Quality practitioners at an affordable price. Welcome to APNS!

Our Values

Compassion

We recognize that patients have their own challenges.  It is important to us that each patient feels heard & understood, and that we consider our patients state of being in providing a plan that best helps them through their current challenges.

Collaboration

We work will all disciplines both referring & accepting patients to ensure that our patients get the maximum services that healthcare can provide.

Teaching

Patients’ participation in their care is vital to its success.  Educating patients so the understand what their plan of care is, as well as why it is necessary & appropriate for them is one of our core values.

Professionalism

It is a fundamental value for us at APNS that we both demonstrate and set the standard for professionalism in our field of nursing and in our practice.

What is a Nurse Practitioner?

Simply put, a Nurse Practitioner is a different kind of doctor.  They go through years of medical training, just like doctors.  They can specialize, just like doctors. They can admit & discharge patients from hospitals, just like doctors.  They can collect reimbursements from your insurance, just like doctors. They can even perform surgery, just like doctors.

All Nurse Practitioners must be nurses first. After earning a bachelor’s degree, Nurse Practitioners go through a 3 medical training master’s program.  They are then eligible to obtain a doctorate in nursing practice – the DNP.  All Nurse Practitioners must be board certified in their individual specialty, just like doctors.  What sets Nurse Practitioners apart from other healthcare providers is their unique emphasis on the health and well-being of the whole person.  With a focus on health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and health counseling, Nurse Practitioners guide patients in making smarter health and lifestyle choices, which in turn can lower patients’ out-of-pocket costs.  Nurse Practitioners have been a critical means of lowering healthcare costs in the current American Healthcare System.

Nurse Practitioners have rapidly become the healthcare provider of choice for millions of Americans. Having been nurses first, they have a unique ability to blend clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating health conditions with an added emphasis on disease prevention and health management, all with an added level of empathy and compassion most patients don’t get from their doctors.  Nurse Practitioners bring a comprehensive perspective to healthcare. Currently, Americans make over 1 billion visits to Nurse Practitioners every year.
