Understanding your medication is one of the most important steps toward using it safely and effectively.

The medications section of our patient education library covers commonly prescribed and discussed medications used in telehealth practice — including treatments for chronic conditions, acute illnesses, men’s and women’s health concerns, mental health, weight management, and more. Each page explains what the medication is, how it works, why it may be prescribed, possible side effects, important safety considerations, and what to expect during treatment, in plain language without the medical jargon.

COVID-19

A contagious respiratory illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that can range from mild cold-like symptoms to severe disease.

Cough and Cold

An infection of the nose, sinuses, and upper airways that can cause coughing, congestion, sore throat, and other cold-like symptoms.

Constipation

A digestive condition that makes bowel movements infrequent or difficult to pass and may cause bloating or abdominal discomfort.

Cold Sores / Oral Herpes

A common viral infection that causes recurring fluid-filled blisters around the lips or mouth and can spread through close contact.

COPD

A long-term lung disease that limits airflow and makes breathing increasingly difficult over time.

Chlamydia

A common sexually transmitted infection that often causes no symptoms but can lead to complications if left untreated.

Cellulitis

A skin infection that causes swelling, tenderness, and redness or discoloration and can spread without prompt treatment.

Bronchitis

Inflammation of the airways that causes coughing, mucus, chest discomfort, and sometimes difficulty breathing.

BPH/Enlarged Prostate

A noncancerous enlargement of the prostate that can press on the urethra and cause frequent, urgent, or difficult urination.
